These are your tasks

  • Design of a microservice architecture and a horizontally scaled system landscape for state-of-the-art big data applications
  • Use of Java, Scala, Python and SQL to implement complex ETL/ELT processes based on current Big Data technologies
  • Optimize the performance of big data applications and research as to how Spark, Kafka, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive) and Cassandra can collaborate and scale
  • Operationalization of data science models for productive use in a data analytics platform on which retail companies who’ve integrated their data receive automated recommendations for action in real time
  • Close cooperation with other departments

What you bring with you

  • University degree in (business) informatics, data science, mathematics or a comparable qualification
  • Hands-on experience with the Hadoop Big Data ecosystem (Spark, Hive/Impala, HBase,Yarn), and the Data Lake paradigm
  • Profound knowledge of functional programming languages such as Python, Java and Scala as well as profound experience with data extraction and transformation
  • Enthusiasm for development, you master Git with closed eyes, pay attention to code quality and test coverage and are not afraid of DevOps tasks
